Paul (2016) is a physical as well as virtual exploration of contemporary artistic practice. Primarily referencing the landscape subject of the established Irish artist Paul Henry's work (1877-1958). The early 20th century witnessed the west of Ireland become the main influence of Henry's work. Through photographic imagery, I attempt to create a link between the artist's subject of painting and mine. Interrupting/Supporting the subject of landscape are 100 moving coloured cubes (Green, brown ,blue, white and grey). The colours aim to represent a partial amount of the familiar palette of Henry. The coloured cubes progress from each side of the landscape continuously, with the colour green constantly moving through each colour simultaneously.
